Not that you asked, but…

“You Are The One That I Love” as well as the other sketches featuring these characters, “You Are The Love Of My Life” and “This Is The Land That I Love” are the kinds of sketches that start off pretty funny then get a bit repetitive, followed by downright boring, unfunny, irresponsibly unfunny, then pretty funny again.

My favorite part of this sketch is when Alex Borstein spits chewed up nuts all over me. Not because spit takes are funny (even though they are) but because of how long this bit takes to play out. The sketch doesn't call for her to keep loading her face with nuts before spitting them all over me. I guess she just felt the comedy would be heightened in relation to the volume of nuts that she spits all over me. I'm actually cracking up right before she spits the nuts all over me because I can't believe how long it's taking for her to spit the nuts all over me. Just spit the nuts all over me -- we all know that's what's going to happen.

And then guess what? She spits the nuts all over me and we both crack up. I guess she was right about using more nuts.
