A couple weeks ago, I took part in A Night of 140 Tweets: A Celebrity Tweetathon for Haiti at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in LA. It was a really fun night for a great cause and it’s now available for download and on DVD, with all of the proceeds going to help build schools in Haiti.

My pal Rob Huebel helped to conceive and organize this unique event, so when he asked me to be a part of it and read one of my tweets onstage I jumped at the chance because Rob has video footage of me in a pony costume, putting out the candles of a birthday cake by urinating on it.

Oh hey, wanna see a short film my good pal Marshall Cook wrote and directed? I’m in it. It’s about relationships and people talking and that sort of thing. It won “Best Ensemble Acting in a Short Film” a couple years back at something called the Downtown Film Festival in Los Angeles. Sounds fake. He probably made it up. Loser.

Welcome to the new Hamfatter. Think of it as my online toilet. If it goes into me, through me and out of me, it will end up here. And just like a toilet, sometimes my friends will stink it up too. So be sure to return often as the site populates with new stuff.

I last updated the old Hamfatter a couple of years back and haven’t had time up until recently to launch this new one. I’ve been busy with showbiz things.

Recently, the sitcom pilot script that my buddy Chad Kultgen and I wrote through our then deal at Tantamount and Sony TV was bought and greenlit to shoot by CBS. Waiting to Die was about two dudes that have been best friends since childhood, living an intentionally simple life, and their struggle against society to keep it that way for the rest of their lives. It starred Josh Lawson, TJ Miller, Josh Gad, BJ Bales, Jillian Bell and Sarah Wright. Being a network television executive producer was pretty neat. I got an office on a fancy Hollywood lot and there was a great variety of snacks. I’ve produced before but never on that scale. Notice I’ve been using a lot of past tense. That is because this pilot, like so many produced by the networks each year, is dead. Stone fucking dead. So don’t look for it. Shame, it was pretty funny. Oh well. Cheers.

A couple of years ago I started Lord Mucker Entertainment, an independent film company. Last year we shot our first feature, For Christ’s Sake, a dark, offbeat comedy written by Jeff Lewis and directed by Jackson Douglas. It stars Jed Rees, Sara Rue, Alex Borstein, Michael Hitchcock, Ike Barinholtz, Kyle Bornheimer, myself and many other talented and hilarious people. In the summer of 2008 the film won Best Feature at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. After some retooling, we’re now ready for another festival blitz and hopefully distribution. Aside from co-starring in the film, I also served as producer. Producing an independent film is like having a bad flu… you don’t sleep very much and the craziest shit comes flying out of your mouth that you never even knew you had in you.

Last summer I starred in and executive produced, The Legend of Awesomest Maximus. It’s a broad comedy that pulls heavy influence from such films as Gladiator, Braveheart, Troy, 300 and other “sword and sandal” movies, without relying on direct parody to tell it’s story. The film stars myself, Kristanna Loken, Rip Torn, Tony Cox and a list of others. I’d describe the movies as Tommy Boy in 400 AD with more dick jokes and a few tits in there. Not sure when the hell it comes out. Enjoy.

Past that, I’ve been busy acting in some other stuff and writing and blah blah blah. Oh hey, Check out the film Lower Learning on DVD. It’s pretty funny.
